I am Ana Paula Pérez Castellá, a psychotherapist with a degree from Universidad Iberoamericana and two master's degrees: one in Systemic Social Solutions and one in Narrative Practices in individual psychotherapy — the approach that guides most of my work today.
I focus primarily on Narrative Therapy, fostering warmth, a gender perspective, and empathy to create a welcoming and trusting environment. Together we will seek to understand each person's unique experiences, rewriting and narrating identity in their own terms, encouraging personal growth and working through diverse topics to address mental and emotional health integrally.
"The person is never the problem, the problem is the problem" — Michael White
My work is informed by a gender perspective. I believe that many of the stories we carry about who we're supposed to be — how to feel, how to relate, what is expected of us — are deeply shaped by gender mandates we inherited without choosing them. In therapy, that's territory worth exploring.
This is a safe, inclusive, and non-discriminatory space, open to all people regardless of background, identity, age, ability, or economic situation.
Narrative therapy starts from the idea that people are not the problem — the problem is the problem. We work with the stories that define us to find new possibilities.
This is a non-pathologizing approach. Each experience is shaped by biological, contextual, cultural, and relational factors.
Together, we explore the narratives that shape your identity and look for new stories that better reflect who you are.
We work from your complete story — your family, your culture, your community — not from an isolated diagnosis.

Ana Paula helped me understand my anxiety from a different place. Not as a defect, but as something that makes sense in my story. That changed everything for me.
My daughter didn't want to talk to anyone after the divorce. With Ana Paula she started opening up little by little, through play. Today she's a different kid.
I'd been in therapy for years without feeling progress. Ana Paula's narrative approach allowed me to see myself from a new perspective. She's deeply respectful and warm.
Do you feel that something in your life needs to change, but you're not sure where to begin?
Do you find yourself repeating patterns that no longer serve you, but aren't sure how to move out of them?
Are there parts of who you are that you didn't choose — they were simply handed to you?
Do you feel that the words you use to describe yourself no longer fit — that there's something in you that doesn't have a name yet?
Is there a gap between how you describe your life and how it actually feels to live it?
Are there moments when you feel alone, even when surrounded by people?
Are you looking for a space where what you think, feel, and live is heard without judgment?
Is there something you've been carrying for a while that you feel deserves your attention?
Do you feel there's a new version of you that you're ready to explore?
If any of this resonates, maybe this is the space you've been looking for.

Narrative Therapy is a respectful, non-blaming approach to therapy that centres people as the experts in their own lives. It is based on the idea that problems are separate from people, in other words, you are not the problem, the problem is the problem.
From this perspective, our identities are constructed through the stories we tell about ourselves: events we link together in sequence over time, to which we give meaning. These stories shape how we see ourselves, how we act, and what we believe is possible for our lives.
Sometimes, certain stories become dominant and define us in ways we didn't choose. They leave little room for the complexities, contradictions, and strengths that also make us who we are. In therapy, we explore those dominant narratives and search together for alternative stories: ones that better reflect who we are and who we want to become.
If you feel something isn't flowing in your life — whether it's anxiety, difficulties in your relationships, a sense of being stuck, or simply a desire to understand yourself better — therapy can be a valuable space for you. You don't need to be in crisis to seek support. Anyone, at any stage of life, can benefit from a space of listening and accompaniment.
Each session lasts approximately 50 minutes. The frequency is agreed upon together, although I generally recommend weekly sessions at the beginning of the process. Session length and format can be adapted to your accessibility needs.
Yes, I offer both in-person and online sessions via video call. Online sessions have the same quality and depth as in-person ones, and allow you to access therapy from anywhere in the world.
You can book a session directly from this page using the contact button, or reach out to me via email or WhatsApp. I'll get back to you promptly to coordinate a time that works. If cost is a concern, we can talk about it — sliding scale options are available.
I work only with adolescents. To begin a therapeutic process, the consent of their parent or legal guardian is required. The first session will be held with them, as they are responsible for authorizing the process, handling payment, and signing the informed consent form. From the second session onward, the therapeutic work will take place individually with the adolescent.

There's a scene a lot of parents describe to me in sessions: they walk down the hall, knock on their teenager's door, and get either silence or a flat "I'm...
